Fire Verification
Similar to burglary alarms, fire alarms must be verified before the fire department is called. In some areas, fire departments penalize residents or alarm monitoring companies with fines or other penalties for repeated false alarms.
False alarms happen for several reasons, such as system malfunction, maintenance problems or smoke from cooking. Visonic's RealAlarm solution allows accurate fire alarm verification. The moment a smoke detector issues a fire alarm, PIR cameras installed in the house start taking pictures, which are immediately sent to the monitoring station. If fire or smoke is spotted in one of the images, monitoring station personnel know the fire is real and can respond accordingly.
